Special Education
Our Vision
In partnership with families, we will provide high-quality instruction and individualized support for students with disabilities to ensure all student reach their full potential.
We provide a diverse range of services and educational opportunities to assist students with special education needs, spanning from age 3 through grade 8. Our instructional approach is tailored to address the distinctive requirements of each child with a disability and/or individualized education plan.
Our primary goal is to deliver essential services within the local school whenever possible. In certain instances, students may be assigned to another school or site that offers additional services.
Our offerings encompass home-based services, specialized small group instruction, participation in general education classrooms, and off-site instruction, as determined by the student's Individual Education Planning (IEP) team.
Students with disabilities who do not qualify for an individualized education program, as required by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and implementing provisions of the School Code, may qualify for services under Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 if the child (i) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, (ii) has a record of a physical or mental impairment, or (iii) is regarded as having a physical or mental impairment.
