Free Summer Meals Flyer

Free Summer Lunch Program

06/27/2022

Zion Elementary School District 6 will be providing two free meals a day Monday thru Thursday from June 27 until July 28 at West Elementary. All children 18 years old and younger may join us for breakfast from 8:00 am - 9:00 am and then for lunch from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. All food must be consumed on school property. Food will be served based on walk-ins. (This service will not be available on July 4, as it falls on a federal holiday.)

Learn to Swim Program Flyer

Zion Elementary School District 6 and the Zion Park District are teaming up for a Learn to Swim program. This program is designed for District 6 students entering 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. District 6 will be awarding scholarships for the Learn to Swim program. This means that any family who applies for this program can Learn to Swim for free. Fill out the scholarship application today!

Student Raffle Winner with Principal Edwards

Pawsitive Behavior Raffle Winners

West wrapped up all the Pawsitive Referrals this year and entered the students referred into a raffle. Three lucky Wildcats won a new Chromebook for their Pawsitive Behavior. Thank you to all of our students for being so positive this year, and congratulations to our winners!

5th-Graders Walking During Clap Out

5th-Grade Clap Out Celebration

West Elementary hosted a clap out celebration for 5th-grade students. There was lots of laughter, cheers, and congratulations as our students walked out. Many of our students stopped for hugs and goodbyes before kicking off summer!

West had their monthly PBIS West Wildcat Cat Cash Raffle today. These awesome students won fabulous prizes in our raffle today.

“It’s not how we start. It’s how we finish. Finish strong!” Mrs. Wiltse is conferencing with her students. This allows them to reflect on their test scores and discuss how they will end their 4th Grade year successfully.

Ms. Wiltse recognized one of her students for his hard work and positive behavior. Our responsible wildcat received his Pawsitive Referral Award and took a selfie with Principal Edwards. Such a fun phone call to make home! Keep up the wonderful work, Wildcats.

Welcome back from break! Our 4th-graders enjoyed a math scavenger hunt by practicing angle measurements. Students had such fun using protractors to learn about acute, obtuse, and right angles!

8th-graders Davin and Shanon's actions still define Zion District 6 Youth Leadership Team's mission to develop “Confidence and Commitment through Collaboration. ” The twins' passion for change started as third graders when they joined Mrs. Wiltse's Youth Leadership Team.

West Student Olympics

West students got into the Olympic spirit during physical education class participating in a variety of Winter Olympic activities to celebrate the 2022 Winter Games. Students learned about sportsmanship and teamwork while having fun competing for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
